There are two internationally recognised British based organisations that represent surveyors. The International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS) and The Yacht Desigers and Surveyors Association (YDSA). All surveyors are vetted before they can join either of these organisations and to keep their membership both organisations have systems which ensure continuous professional develoment.
Mark Wiater, BMS's principal surveyor is a member of both organisations listed above and on the MCA comittees of the YDSA and RYA. We have surveyors in most regions of the world allowing us to mimise travel costs and guarantee a fast responce time.
Our services, as marine surveyors and consultants are indemnified by full professional indemnity insurance underwritten at Lloyds of London.
The aim of a Full Condition Survey, commonly known as a Pre-Purchase Survey is to identify and detail a yacht's defects, so for a new buyer help them decide if they wish to proceed with the purchase of their chosen yacht.
